Our client came to us and expressed how he wanted to keep the rest of the porch and match in a new piece in place of this rotten one - so we said no problem. First steps were measuring up and deciding how to do this safely.
Next we hired two Strongboys for this job, to hold the rest of the porch up while we dismantled this rotten piece. We placed one prop on the side here and towards the front of the porch.
After it was all propped up, we removed the remaining pieces of the porch. We would carefully remove bespoke pieces that would have to be added later on to match in with the old once again.
We installed the new uprights into place - the new timber matching the exact measurements of the old pieces and the studs placed back in carefully up top.
Nearly there now. We get some Brilliant White gloss from Dulux and route out the grooves into the uprights to match in with the old. This really brought it all together. Our decorator would do the rest!
After another coat of paint, the finished product was here. This porch was brought back to life once again - Structurally sound and completely brightened up. Our client couldn't be happier.
